Background: Hematopoietic progenitor cell antigen CD34 is a ~40 kDa protein. Possible adhesion molecule with a role in early hematopoiesis by mediating the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or directly to stromal cells. Could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins.

Flow Cytometry

Flow-cytometry using anti-human CD34 antibody.CD34 Transfected CHO cells were stained with an irrelevant antibody (Blue Histogram) or an anti-human CD34 antibody monoclonal antibody (Catalog # HB766207 ,Green Histogram) at a concentration of 5 µg/ml for 30 mins at RT. After washing, bound antibody was detected using a FITC conjugated goat anti-mouse antibody (Catalog # MF690414) and cells analysed on a NovoCyte Flow Cytometer.
